Support Meetings

The first hour (from 7.30pm) is for our support time only, followed by announcements and then a speaker if relevant.

PLEASE NOTE THE VENUE IS ST MARTINS COMMUNITY CENTRE. PLEASE NOTE ALSO THAT MEETINGS ARE ON THE FIRST TUESDAY OF THE MONTH. The meetings are informal and we hope to provide a safe and friendly environment where any women of any age or at any stage of their treatment or recovery can come and find support with other women.

As one lady recently commented:- "I was worried about attending my first Pink Ladies meeting as I was concerned that I would see sick/ill women, but everyone was so welcoming and I had a really good evening, so much so that when I got home my partner thought I had been to the pub!"

The aims of these meetings are:-

  • To support each other through sharing and listening, particularly those newly diagnosed or those with secondary cancers.
  • To gain information about breast cancer and relevant topics.
  • To share contact information.
  • To invite speakers on related health topics and complimentary therapies.
  • To have open meetings with no agenda to enable the opportunity to talk or just to listen for the entire evening.
  • To have access to a fully qualified breast care nurse outside the surgery environment.

Please find below the list of dates for our meetings during 2010.
